A university student has been on a hunger strike for three days in Tarakanda upazila of Mymensingh district demanding marriage. The student is known to have been on a hunger strike since noon on Sunday at the home of his boyfriend Saddam Hussein, Abuchan’s son from Verua village in Kamargaon, a union of the Upazila. Tarakanda is a first-year student from Bangabandhu Degree College who is on a hunger strike demanding marriage.
The student, who was on a hunger strike, said he had known Saddam on Facebook for three years. At one point in the conversation with him through the mobile, the deep relationship turned into love. The student said that suddenly my family got married elsewhere against my will. This made Saddam even more reckless. Crying on my cell phone, Saddam never let me have a family. I was forced to divorce her husband because of his words. I have had sex with him several times in the last few months. Suddenly Saddam lost contact with me. Under the pretext of family, they try to get married elsewhere and avoid me. If I can’t marry her, my life will end. It is difficult to survive in this situation. She is on the way to separating from her family. The married husband also had to leave. Just for Saddam.
Meanwhile, the girl’s family said Saddam did not allow her to start a family even though he married her elsewhere while she was studying.
Saddam’s relatives were not found on yesterday’s hunger strike. Locals said the family fled after learning of the girl’s hunger strike.
Tarakanda Police Station OC Abul Khair said the victim was rescued from the home last night. The girl was sent to the Phulpur Police Station because the victim’s family lives in Phulpur.
