A five-year-old boy has been accused of raping an olive in Raipura, Narsingdi. The incident took place at 2 p.m. on Saturday in a wooden garden near the Kukurmara crematorium at the Upazila Union of Mirzapur. Police arrested a young man named Nirmal Biswas (22) on the charge.
The victim’s father filed a rape case at the Raipura police station on Sunday. The accused Nirmal is the son of Promod Biswas from the Kukurmara village of the same union. He is a farmer by profession.
Raipura Police Deputy Inspector Dev Dulal Dey said police raided the home Saturday night and arrested Nirmal after receiving information about the incident. The boy has been sent to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital for a medical examination.
According to sources in the case, the victim was playing with other children in the backyard of his house. At that moment Nirmal showed greed for an olive and called the boy from there. The dogs then took her to the wooden garden adjacent to the crematorium, raped her and fled. Later, when the boy informed his family about the incident, they informed the police. Then on Saturday night, the police went and arrested the rapist Nirmal.
Raipura Police Deputy Inspector Dev Dulal Dey said the arrested Nirmal was sent to jail through court.
