Barisal: Police have recovered the body of an unidentified woman wearing a one-drum burqa from a passenger bus in the Gournadi sub-district of Barisal.
The body was recovered from the Bhurghata bus stop on the Barisal-Madaripur border at 11pm on Friday (November 20).
According to the police, an RC transport bus traveling on the Barisal interurban route at night left the Nathullabad central bus terminal in Barisal for Bhurghata. When the bus arrived in the Goriapar area of the city, a person threw a drum on the bus. At that time, the man told the bass assistant that his men would take the Bhurghata drum.
The bus took a long time to get to Bhurghata, but no one came to collect the drums. At one stage, when all the bus passengers got off, the aide could not find a way to lower the bus drum. Later, with the help of the locals, he opened the drum and saw the body of a woman.
Confirming the matter, the Officer-in-Charge (CO) of the Gournadi Model Police Station, Afzal Hossain, said the woman was wearing a burqa. He is approximately 30 years old. The body will be sent to the Shebachim Hospital morgue for autopsy on Saturday.
Legal action is being taken in this regard, said the Additional Superintendent of Police for the Barisal district. Naimul Haque.
On Thursday afternoon, police recovered the half-dead body of a woman from the Barthi area of Gaurnadi.
