Munni, SI Robin’s wife murdered in Adabar.
The hanging body of the wife of a police ASI has been recovered from a house in the Adabar area of the capital. Police recovered the body of Afrin Akhter Munni, 28, on Monday night. The deceased was identified as Nazrul Islam Robin. He is working at the Adbar Police Station as ASI.
Police say Afrin committed suicide. However, Afrin’s family claims that Nazrul has made up the suicide story by killing him. They demanded justice for the incident.
Adabar police said ASI Nazrul lives with his wife and two children in a rented house near the police station. Afrin hung his wife in a room in the house on Monday night due to a family dispute. Upon receiving the news, the police left the police station and recovered his body.
Afrin’s uncle, Mujibur Rahman, complained that Nazrul had an affair with another girl. Nazrul was furious with his wife when he saw Afrin on his mobile phone. Family disputes have been going on for the past two years. Nazrul often beat Afrin. Last Sunday, Nazrul also beat Afrin and kicked him out of the house. The police officer also threatened that nothing would happen to him. After killing him on Monday, he staged a suicide drama.
The uncle claimed that after the incident, Adabar police also tried to cover up the matter. Nazrul’s colleagues are trying to take the matter backwards.
However, Adabar OC Kazi Shaheduzzaman police station said the initial investigation showed that ASI’s wife Nazrul had committed suicide. Family disputes can lead to these suicides. His body was recovered and sent to the Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College morgue for an autopsy. The exact cause of death can be determined after receiving the report.
