When Lala Aung Chakma went to present a case at the Teknaf Model Police Station, then-Officer-in-Charge (CO) Pradeep Kumar Das (fired in the case of retired Major Sinha) refused to file a case. On January 26, she filed a case with the Cox’s Bazar Abuse Suppression Court for Women and Children. The court learned of the case and ordered the Cox’s Bazar Police Investigation Office (PBI) to investigate.

PBI informed the Cox’s Bazar Abuse Suppression of Women and Children Court on August 9 that the accusation of abducting Chakma in Lucking had not been determined to be true. However, the girl’s father claimed that at least five witnesses testified that Luckingme was abducted from the home.

Regarding the complaint, the investigating officer of the case, the inspector (unarmed) of the Bazar unit of PBI Cox, Kshainu Marmar, said: In addition to the witnesses, I spoke with eyewitnesses and people in the area. Except for the five witnesses, no one else in the area spoke of the kidnapping. As a result, I mentioned in the investigation report that he himself had gone to Lacking.

Father Lala Aung Chakma claims that after 11 months, he learned that the body of his daughter Lucking was in the morgue. He went to collect the body and learned that he had filed a lawsuit against Ataullah for kidnapping, child marriage and forced conversion; Ataullah’s husband has demanded that the body be removed. The application was filed in court. A Cox’s Bazar court ordered the RAB to bury the body after confirming the deceased’s ‘religious identity’, subject to investigation.
