The body of a Bangladeshi student returned to China has been recovered from a septic tank. The deceased was identified as Yunus Babu, 23 years old.
His half-dead body was recovered from Tasfia Bhaban’s septic tank on Shafiqur Rahman Road in Feni around 1am on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Yunus Babu, a Paikpara area resident of the Bagadana union in Sonagazi. Babu Feni passed ICST Engineering Diploma and studied BSc Engineering in China on scholarship.
Feni Model Police Station OC (Investigation) Omar Haider said that after receiving the news, the police went to the building around 10:30 pm and found the body in a septic tank.
Upon receiving the news, senior district police officers visited the scene. The body of the deceased was recovered around 1:00 p.m. and sent to the Feni Sadar Hospital morgue. However, since it is in the septic tank, it breaks down in the body. Police are working to unravel the mystery of the incident.
Rezia Begum, the mother of the murdered student, said her son used to come to the countryside and live with his parents in a house in Feni. His grandfather’s house is in Charsonapur Tinbaria village of Amirabad junction of Sonagazi.
Babu passed the Sonagazi Alhelal Academy SSC in 2013.
Earlier Friday morning, a Fulgazi Upazila Anandapur Union resident Amanuddin Bhunabari said. The police rescued the wounded Shahriar. He was later admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for treatment. He was also strangled to death. According to his information, Babu’s body was recovered.
Last Thursday, a friend called Shahriar Babu from home. Several criminals, including Shaheen, the house keeper, are believed to have been involved in the murder.
