An excited crowd set the body of an unidentified man on fire after beating him to death in Lalmonirhat’s Patgram. Two people were injured in the incident. The agitated crowd chased police until the latest news was received at 9:30 pm Thursday. The incident took place around 6 p.m. Thursday.

According to locals, a man arrived on a motorcycle and entered the Burimari Jame mosque on Thursday afternoon. As soon as the news spread outside, people started gathering there.

The man was taken to the Burimari Union Parishad office to save him from the mafia. But after a while, thousands of people began to gather there. At one point, the agitated crowd began dragging and beating the person kept on the union council. At one point, his body was set on fire. The motorcycle also caught fire at that time.

An injured person named Sultan Jobayer Abbas (51) from the Munsipara area of ​​Rangpur city has been admitted to the Patgram Upazila Health Complex. Another injured young man, Sharif (22), was sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.

The injured Sultan Jobayer Abbas said he came to Burimari for personal work and was beaten.

Doctors from the emergency department of the Patgram Upazila Health Complex said that two injured people were taken to hospital. Among them, seriously injured Sharif was sent to Rangpur.

Patgram OC Sumon Kumar Mohant Police Station confirmed the death of one person and said another was injured in the incident. After setting the body on fire, it was slightly burned. Later, the police recovered the body and took it to the police station.
