The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has invited the President and Prime Minister of the Awami League, Sheikh Hasina, as a guest to the inaugural function of the country’s Independence Day celebrations.
A BNP delegation brought an invitation card to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as a guest at the inaugural function of the Independence Golden Jubilee celebrations at the Prime Minister’s political office in Dhanmondi on Saturday night. Awami ABM League central committee member Reazul Karim Kawsar and office assistant Masud Ahmed received invitation cards from them.
Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, Secretary of Publicity and Publications of BNP, who was present at the delegation, said: “We have come with an invitation card to invite the Prime Minister to the inaugural function of the Golden Jubilee of Independence.” We hope that the Prime Minister will attend the golden anniversary of our independence.
Earlier, the BNP delegation left the party office at 5.30 pm. Another member of the delegation was Bijan Kanti Sarkar, a member of the president’s advisory council.
