Ahmed Ansari Janaza was detained on the grounds of Jamia Rahmania Madrasa in Bertala de Sarail upazila in the Brahmanbaria district.

Millions of devotees participated in the janaza prayers held at 10 am Saturday.

The entire country has been declared a high-risk area for the current fatal coronavirus infection. Furthermore, the Brahmanbaria district was declared closed as of 6 pm on April 11.

Meanwhile, the role of the administration has been debated when millions of people attended Ahmed Ansari’s jana de Juba on Saturday. How so many people got together. Questions have been raised about the early detection activities of local law enforcement agencies.

Although the local administration says religious leaders have ensured that the janaza prayers will be performed on a limited scale. Although Maulana Jubayer Ahmed Ansari did not have a place in the janaza prayer field, millions of people offered janaza prayers within a few kilometers of the Dhaka-Sylhet highway.

Senior district administration and police officials are now speaking on this issue. Again, many are avoiding media workers in this regard.

Sarail OC Shahadat Hossain Titu Police Station said there will be so many people we have not understood before. After people started coming, we had nothing else to do.

Rafiqul Islam, chairman of the Brahmanbaria district committee of the Aware Citizens Committee (SNAC), told reporters that the administration needed to investigate it. It was necessary to stop when he saw many people coming.

On the other hand, Maulana Moinul Islam Khandaker, Secretary General of Bangladesh Khilafah Majlis, branch of the Brahmanbaria district, said: “We do not think that there would be so many people.” If we waited for more people, we could perform a janaza at noon. Due to the blockage, we have chosen a small place for Janaza’s prayers.

Mufti Mubarak Ullah, director of Jamia Yunusiya Madrasa, a leading religious institution in Brahmanbaria, said: “We wanted to perform janaza prayers on a small scale.” But without our knowing it, people have come to the janaza prayers with respect.

Brahmanbaria Additional Police Superintendent Muhammad Alamgir Hossain said: “We have spoken personally with religious leaders.” They reassured us. But people have come from different places in isolation. In that case, the police cannot force anyone to get out of the car. There is no opportunity for the police to do anything by carrying truncheons or by force.

Hayat-ud-Daulah Khan, Deputy Commissioner for Brahmanbaria, told reporters that we had not been asked for any permission. Currently the closing situation is occurring. To guarantee social distance and people are asked to stay at home. We inform you about this on Friday. They assured us that they would carry out their procedures in a limited way in accordance with the prescribed rules. Now I have to find out what the real problem is.
