Mushfiqur Rahim has been fined 25 percent of the match fee for his aggressive behavior towards his teammates in a Bangabandhu T20 Cup match.
A statement from the Bangladesh Cricket Board said that Mushfiqur had been seen behaving disrespectfully towards his teammates during the game.
A demerit point has also been added to Mushfiqur’s behavior.
Mushfiqur will be penalized for one match if he has four demerit points.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board has officially warned Mushfiqur about the incident.
Mushfiqur’s behavior is in Level 1 of the BCB Code of Conduct. In this case, the punishment ranges from a formal warning to a fine of 50 percent of the match fee.
Mushfiqur Rahim was punished by referees Gazi Sohail and Mahfuzur Rahman and match referee Rakibul Hasan, according to reports from the third and fourth official.
Mushfiqur Rahim apologized in the morning
“First of all, I apologize to the fans and spectators for what happened in yesterday’s match,” Bangladesh cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim said in a statement on his Facebook page.
In that post, he gave a photo with Dhaka team player Nasum Ahmed.
The apology from Mushfiqur Rahim, one of the best players in the Bangladesh team and former captain, focused on an incident that took place on the cricket ground on Monday.
Video footage of the incident, which has been released via social media, shows goalkeeper Mushfiqur running towards his teammate while playing. And then there was a lot of discussion and criticism about Mushfiqur’s behavior.
“I already apologized to my partner Nasum Ahmed,” the star player said in a Facebook post. I also apologize to the Almighty.
“I think my gestures were not acceptable. I promise that I will not repeat that behavior on or off the field.”

In the first Bangabandhu T20 Cup tie, Dhaka captain Mushfiqur Rahim was seen twice raising his hand towards his teammate Nasum Ahmed.
For the first time in the 13th envelope of the second inning, Team Fortune Barisal’s Afif Hossain took the run pushing Nasum’s ball into the circle. Nasum and Mushfiqur Rahim rushed to catch the ball.
Then Mushfiqur was seen holding the ball and looking at Nasum.
Mushfiqur Rahim then motioned for him to stay behind the seal.
Later in the 18th, when Afif Hossain served the ball and went to the short and thin leg, Mushfiqur Rahim ran to catch the ball.
Nasum Ahmed was the outfielder in the same place. He also went to catch the ball first, but then saw Mushfiqur and backed away. Then Mushfiqur grabbed the catch and struck Nasum again in the same way.
Then the cricket fans reacted in various ways through social media. Most of the fans condemned him, but there were also words of support from many fans.

Speaking to BBC Bangla, Mushfiqur Rahim’s teammate Nasum Ahmed did not want to say much about it.
When contacted by phone, he said: “Nothing happened in the game. We played, we won. What happened outside of that could provoke anger in the game.”
