The Awami League has finalized 26 candidates in the local government elections. They will be given the symbol of the ship. The bid was finalized at a meeting of the Awami League Local Government Representatives Nominating Board on Friday afternoon.
The Nominating Board meeting was held in Ganobhaban, the official residence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Chairperson of the Nominating Board. The meeting nominated candidates for the positions of president of seven upazila parishads, mayors of five municipalities and president of 15 union parishads (UP).
Those who got the ship symbol
Naogaon Raninagar Upazila Parishad elections. Abdur Rauf, Pabna Ishwardi Upazila. Naib Ali Biswas and Md. Bera Upazila. Rezaul Haque, Satkhira Debhata upazila. Mujibur Rahman, Jessore Bagharpara Upazila Victoria Parveen Sathy, Comilla Brahmanpara Upazila. Jahangir Khan Chowdhury and Shahnaz Begum in Noakhali’s Begumganj Upazila obtained the symbol of the ship.
Elections of the municipality of Gaibandha Palashbari. Abu Bakkar Pradhan, Nazma Rashid in Madaripur’s Rajoir Township, Khandaker Morshed Rahman in Faridpur’s Madhukhali Township, and Amitabh Bose in Sadar Township and Tafazzal Hossain in Brahmanbaria’s Bancharampur Township received the ship symbol.
