At Hajiganj of Chandpur, there was a bloody clash between the two rival factions of the Awami League. The clashes lasted two hours from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm on Tuesday. Recently, the Hajiganj Upazila Awami League organized a protest rally in the Bishbrod area of the city to protest against the desecration and vandalism of the Bangabandhu sculpture in Kushtia. The leaders of the district Awami League were supposed to join her. But before the rally started in the afternoon, supporters of the local MP attacked and smashed the stage, setting fire to photographs of the nation’s father Bangabandhu and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. After this incident, both sides were involved in clashes from time to time. At that time, two platoon policemen and police detectives from Hajiganj Police Station also tried to control the situation.
Meanwhile, the rally organized by the Hajiganj Upazila Awami League was canceled but they marched into the city after eliminating the opposition. On the other hand, those injured in the confrontation have been treated locally.

Upazila Awami League President Helal Uddin and Upazila Parishad President General Secretary Gazi Mainuddin said: “Organize this demonstration in collaboration with the district Awami League to protest the vandalism of the Bangabandhu sculpture in Kushtia recently “. But without any argument, the Juba League attacked our rally stage with the help of some thugs and outsiders. They alleged that the attackers vandalized the photographs of the nation’s father Bangabandhu and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and set them on fire.
