Delaware is the first third-sex state senator in the state.
Democrat Sarah McBride won the post of Senator from the state of Delaware. Represents the third sex. The human rights activist was elected from Delaware District 1, defeating Republican candidate Steve Washington.
In his first reaction since the victory, McBride wrote in a Twitter post: “Tonight LGBTQ has informed children that our democracy is big enough to house them.”
The first non-binary legislator in Oklahoma
Mori Turner has been elected to the Oklahoma State House of Representatives from District 6. He is also the first non-binary Muslim legislator in the State of Oklahoma. Turner, a 26-year-old Republican candidate, defeated Kelly Berlin by a wide margin, according to unofficial Oklahoma election officials.
Turner identifies himself as “non-binary.” According to the US National Center for Transgender Equality, Non-binary refers to those who are neither male nor female.
