The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against the Mayor-2 of the Bogra Municipality Panel (Councilor of District No. 10) and Managing Director of Shah Fateh Ali Paribahan Aminul Islam. This is a case presented under the charge of acquiring assets other than income amounting to Tk 3 crore 69 lakh 13 thousand 648.
AKM Mahbubur Rahman, deputy director of the intelligence unit at ACC headquarters, submitted the charge sheet at the ACC office in Bogra on Tuesday after more than three and a half years of investigation. According to ACC sources, Mahfuz Iqbal, then deputy deputy director of the ACC’s Bogra integrated office, filed a lawsuit against Aminul Islam, the mayor of the Bogra municipality panel, on April 9, 2016, alleging that he had acquired assets unprofitable. It has been mentioned in the submitted charge sheet that according to the income tax documents of the 2015-16 fiscal year, Aminul Islam’s legal income is 1 crore 22 lakh 22 thousand 43 taka. The loan amount and the tax on income and family expenses is 1 crore 16 lakh 8,543 taka.
