The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) asked the government for a list of government officials’ homes in Begumpara, Canada.

ACC Secretary Dilwar Bakht told reporters at the ACC office on Monday.

In response to a question, he said: ‘We are investigating around 26 houses of government officials in Begumpara, Canada. We have asked the government for the list.

He said: ‘Our president has talked about this. We are looking for this list, we will start work when the list is available.

Earlier, on the Dhaka Reporters Unit’s Meet the Reporters program, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen said: “Initially, we have found some truth.” I thought that the number of politicians would be greater. But four politicians were seen. The number of public employees is high. There are also some merchants.

The chancellor said he had received information on 26 incidents. Most of them are government employees.

Regarding the Juba League leader arrested in the casino case, Dilwar Bakht said: “A charge sheet has been passed against the expelled Juba League leader Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan on charges of smuggling Tk 8 crore 75 lakh in the foreigner and acquisition of illegal assets worth Tk 42 crore 75 lakh “.

The ACC secretary said: “During the investigation, allegations of acquisition of unknown assets worth Tk 42.65 million and smuggling of Tk 6.54 million abroad on their behalf have been proven.”
