A group of students from Jagannath University organized a protest on campus on October 24, accusing Tithi of insulting religion on Facebook.
Activists from the Chhatra Dal and Chhatra League also participated there along with the leaders and activists of the student movement of the Islamic regime, Ahl-e-Hadith and other religious organizations.
Authorities temporarily expelled him on October 26 in response to their demands. A three-member committee was also formed to investigate the incident.
Earlier on October 25, the girl left her home in Mirpur for the Pallabi Police Station to file a complaint for hacking her Facebook account. A general diary has been kept at the police station in this regard.
At a press conference on Thursday, DIG Jamil Ahmed said: “On October 25, he left Pallabi’s home in Mirpur and went to Bagerhat to marry his lover Shiplu Mallick. They then returned to Dhaka on November 9. Later, Tithi hid in that house in Narsingdi.
“On October 31, the CID cyber monitoring team found a false post on social media that said that Tithi Sarkar had been rescued from the fourth floor of the CID office in Malibagh. This caused quite a stir. In fact, it did not. such an incident has occurred at CID.
“Niranjan Baral, a rumor monger, was arrested in the Banasree area of Rampura. A case under the Digital Security Act was filed against Niranjan and several other unidentified persons at the Paltan Police Station on November 2.”
CID official Jamil said: “According to the investigation, the government used the Facebook ID of the Jagannath University Department of Zoology for the 2016-17 academic year to share religiously provocative posts, comments and information at various times. . As a result, the university students protested and demonstrated against him. Tithi filed a GD at the Pallabi police station on October 23 claiming that his Facebook ID had been hacked on the advice of some leaders and activists of his organization (a religious organization) to avoid future dangers and stay safe.
“Tithi Sarkar voluntarily staged a secret kidnapping drama. His idea was to get rid of the incident of hurting religious feelings by imposing responsibility for the kidnapping on others by hiding in secret or the incident would go in another direction. “
Before arresting Tithi, her husband Shiplu Mallick was arrested in the Kaptanbazar area of the capital around 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, she said.
Jamil Ahmed said another case was being prepared against those detained on other charges, including sedition and insulting religious sentiments.
