Iqbal Hossain, president of the Dhaka Bar Association, was quoted by the Metropolitan Chief Magistrate (CMM) as saying that the judge had been fired after protests and tensions on court premises since Wednesday morning.
He told bdnews24.com in the afternoon: “An unexpected incident occurred on Tuesday. Judge Asaduzzaman Noor has disrespected a lawyer. The lawyer reported the matter in writing to the Dhaka Bar Association.
“We then discussed the matter with CMM Zulfiqar Haider. He told us that he (Asaduzzaman Noor) has been sent on a two-day license for the time being.”
The president of the Bar Association said: “The matter has been reported to the ministry in question. The ministry will decide whether to withdraw or transfer it ”.
The incident started on Tuesday. On the same day, a lawyer named Rubel Ahmed Bhuiyan protested the delay in taking the judge’s seat. Because of this, Hakim Asaduzzaman Noor told the lawyer that he was “detained for two hours”. Mahbubul Haque Bhuiyan Bablu.
Lawyers began protesting Wednesday morning. Outraged lawyers marched in a procession of several judges, including Metropolitan Chief Magistrate Asaduzzaman Noor, chanting slogans demanding justice.
