The government has taken departmental disciplinary action against former Jamalpur (DC) Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Kabir for posting an offensive video with an office assistant.
The Ministry of Public Administrations has issued a notification in this regard. As a punishment, his salary has been cut in half. At the same time, you will not get any promotions in your working life.
When asked about it, Public Administration Secretary Sheikh Yusuf Harun told Jago News: “Following the investigation, departmental action has been taken against him (Ahmed Kabir). A notification has also been issued in this regard. Your salary has been reduced. Also, you will not get any promotions in your working life. You will have to retire from your current position (Deputy Secretary).
As the accusations against Ahmed Kabir were proven in the departmental investigation, in the circular issued punishing him, it was said that he was demoted to a lower salary grade for three years as a severe punishment according to Rule 4.3) a) of the Law. Norms for Government Employees (Discipline and Appeal) 2018.
Ahmed Kabir is currently in the fifth grade as undersecretary. Due to the punishment, from now on he will get the lowest 6th grade salary according to the 2015 national salary scale. In 5th grade, his basic salary is about 60 lakhs. You will now receive a basic salary of 35 lakhs. The Ministry of Public Function has informed that with it they will receive other bonuses and benefits.
In late August 2019, an offensive video from Jamalpur DC went viral on social media. In the video, an office worker is seen in intimacy with DC Ahmed Kabir. The incident sparked outrage among people across the country, including Jamalpur.
Given this, the Ministry of Public Administrations issued an order on August 25 of that year designating Ahmed Kabir as Special Officer in Charge (OSD) based on the preliminary inquiry.
