Dinajpur: Ghoraghat Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Dinajpur Wahida Khanam has been the victim of a terrorist attack. He was admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RAMEC) in critical condition.

The attack took place around 2 a.m. on Wednesday (September 2) at the bungalow of the official UN post in Ghoraghat.

Ghoraghat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (CO) Amirul Islam confirmed the matter and said the cause of the incident was not yet known.

The UN and his father Amar Ali are known to have been staying in the rear bungalow at the time of the attack. Around 2 am, the criminals entered the house and attacked UNO and her father with sharp weapons and hammers. ONE was seriously injured in the head and her father was stabbed with a sharp weapon. The attackers fled when government employees and people from the area came forward shouting UNO. They were later rescued and admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital in critical condition. UNO is currently in treatment in the hospital ICU. As the condition is serious, the process of taking him to Dhaka continues.
