The tenants, including their children, have been reported to have been locked up for five days in the Harintana Riyabazar area of Khulna. At this time
The matter came to light when the boy drowned in a bucket of water while locked up.

The dead baby’s name is Aziza Tasmia (six months). On Wednesday, the boy’s parents told the owner. He filed a complaint at the police station blaming Nowsher, but the police did not accept it and filed a case of unnatural death. They later went to court and complained to lawyers.

It is known that in December 2020, the wooden design mechanic Imdadul Islam and his wife Tamanna rented two rooms in a one-story house in the Riyabazar area on a contract of 4,000 taka a month. But because she was unable to pay the rent upfront in January, the owner Nowsher kept Tamanna locked up in the house with her children since January 8. At that time, Tamanna’s husband, Mongla, was working as a carpenter in the Jhiudhara area.

Tamanna Islam said the boy suddenly went to play and spilled into a bucket of water on January 11 at noon while he was locked up. When he got home, he rescued the boy from that condition but was unable to take him to the doctor as the house was locked from the outside.

Shahidul Islam Liton, a local Jalma UP member, said that when the boy’s mother screamed through the window, people in the area broke the lock and rescued them. The baby later died on the way to the hospital. The incident has created anger in the area.

Defender Mominul Islam said that the defenseless parents filed a written complaint with the police, but that the police did not take up the case. A complaint will be filed in court on Thursday.
