After the incident, Saiful and his men attacked Nizam near a construction culvert near Alauddin Bazar around 11:30 pm. He died on the spot. Upon receiving the news, the police from Subarnachar Charjabbar Police Station recovered Nizam’s body from the scene and brought it to the police station. The body will be sent to the Noakhali General Hospital morgue for autopsy on Monday.
Belal Uddin said that Alauddin was working in a sewer next to Nizam Bazar after returning from Bazar. At around 11:30 pm, seven or eight people, including Saiful, suddenly attacked his son Nizam. At that time, Saiful, his mother Fatema Begum, his brother Rasul, Belal, Assad’s son Farid, Manik’s son Humayun, Abdullah’s son Abu Taher, and seven or eight other Nizams were beaten to death.
Ziaul Haque, Officer-in-Charge (CO) of the Charjabbar Police Station in Subarnachar, told Prothom Alo on his mobile phone around 6.30pm today that Nizam was beaten to death by his opponents due to a fight over the renting a motorcycle. A young man named Humayun was arrested in the incident. Preparations are under way to present a case in this regard.
