Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation, flew kites to participate in the Saccharine Festival in different areas of Old Dhaka. In the afternoon, the mayor of Dhaka South participated in the saccharin festival in the 43rd district of the city.
Mayor Sheikh Fazle Nur Taposh said at the time: “Today we have colored the entire sky of Dhaka through the traditional saccharin festival of the Dhaka people. Through this event we want the world to know, we know how to rejoice, we know how to celebrate, we know how to preserve our heritage. Today, our children celebrate on the roofs of all the buildings in Dhaka city and take part in this festival.
Highlighting the importance of Bangladesh’s cultural heritage from the clutches of communalism and the forces of evil, DSCC Mayor Attorney Sheikh Taposh said: “This traditional saccharin festival should spread throughout the country. Because nurturing the tradition of a nation is an indicator of its sense of nationalism, an indicator of national identity ”.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to the people of Dhaka for making this event a success. For the first time, on behalf of the Dhaka South City Corporation, we have organized into 75 districts. From now on, we will organize this event every year and the size of this event will increase even more in the coming years.
Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh thanked the Dhaka South City Corporation Standing Committee for Sports and Culture for making the event a success. Later, the mayor of DSCC also participated in the saccharin festival in Zaheer Raihan Natyamanche in District No. 47 and Fakir Chan Community Center in District No. 41. In addition, the Saccharin Festival was organized on behalf of the corporation in various fields of the city, including Suhrawardy Udyan, Abdul Alim’s estate. Apart from this, several festivals organized by private initiatives in the houses of old Dhaka in the city have colored the festival.
