The incident took place at house number two on highway number 4 in the Shamimabad residential area of the city of Sylhet. The victim lives on the second floor of the same house with the defendant Dilwar’s wife and family on the ground floor.
According to the police and the statement in the case, a housewife lives with her husband and children in house number two on highway number 4 in the Shamimabad area.
On Saturday night, Dilawar Hossain, 38, a tenant on the ground floor of the house, raped the housewife along with his two accomplices Harun Mia alias Chakku Harun, 35, and Jamal Mia alias Baidda Jamal, 34 .
The housewife was admitted to the One Stop Crisis Center (OCC) at Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital on Monday (October 5) at noon.
Police arrested Dilwar Hossain and Harun Mia aka Chakku Harun on Sunday night after receiving information about the incident. The housewife filed a case at the Kotwali Police Station in Sylhet on Monday morning.
The arrested man is a resident of the Dilawar Shamimabad residential area, house number two, road number four. He is the son of Lal Miah of Paikergaon in Sylhet Sadar upazila.
Harun lives in a rented neighborhood behind Parkview Medical in the Taltola area of the city. He is the son of the late Shahed Miah from the village of Ragabpur in Kurua de Osmaninagar upazila. The police sent the two to the Metropolitan Judicial Peace Court at around 4:30 pm on Monday.
Kamal Bazar Sarkar, in charge of the Lama Bazar police post, said that Dilawar Hossain, the defendant in the case, also rented the ground floor of the house where the raped woman lived.
There was a fight between the children of the two families. The victim alleged that the housewife was raped at gunpoint by two of her accomplices around 7 pm on Saturday.
Dilawar raped the housewife alone. Harun and Jamal aided Dilwar in the rape. Police arrested Dilwar and his accomplice after receiving the news.
On September 29, a BCL activist raped a teenage girl on the roof of her home. The girl’s mother filed a case against BCL activist Rakib Hossain Niju at the Kotwali police station on Friday. Niju, a BCL activist, was arrested in Golapganj upazila de Sylhet on Saturday night.
Earlier on the night of September 25, a housewife was gang-raped while walking with her husband at MC College. The housewife was forcibly taken away by her husband around 8:30 pm and raped in a private car in front of the bedroom. At that time, two people detained her husband in front of the university.
The husband of the housewife filed a case at the Shahparan Police Station. Two or three unidentified individuals were charged in the case, including six BCL leaders and activists. Eight people were subsequently arrested.
