Mizanur’s parents have been arrested in connection with the stabbing to death of a 10th-class student named Neela Roy de Savar. The information was confirmed in a press release signed by the commander of the RAB-4 CPC-2 branch of the Extra Police Super Zamir Uddin on Thursday night (September 25).
Earlier, they were arrested in the Charigram area of the Manikganj Sadar Police Station on Thursday night.
The arrested Abdur Rahman is the son of the late Haji Ayub Ali from the Dakshin Para area of Savar District 4. He was accompanied by his wife Nazmun Nahar Siddique. They are the tenants of Shah Saidul Alam’s house in Savar’s 4th district.
According to RAB, on September 21, the day after Neela’s shocking murder in Savar, the victim’s father, Narayan Roy, filed a murder case against Mizanur Rahman, her father Abdur Rahman, and her mother Nazmun Nahar. However, the defendants were at large from that moment. Mizan’s parents were arrested in the latest operation. An attempt is being made to arrest the main defendant, Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury.
Additional Police Superintendent Zamir Uddin, RAB-4 CPC-2 commander, said that Mizanur, the main defendant in the Sapphire murder case, and her parents were on the run. They were later arrested in a raid.
Incidentally, Bakhate Mizanur Rahman blocked the path of Neela Roy and her brother Alok Roy as they returned from the hospital on Sunday night. Mizan later snatched Neela from her brother and stabbed her in a room in a nearby abandoned house. Neela died at the Enam Medical College hospital in Savar overnight.
