Photo: Strange poster of President Gias Uddin to receive Fakir’s invitation.
Gias Uddin, chairman of a fakir committee, has taken an innovative step to obtain an invitation from a fakir. He has posted signs with his contact number on different trees in his union. Such an image has been seen in Devangarh Bazar of Devangarh Union in Tentulia Upazila of Panchagarh.
Meanwhile, similar posters have been reported to have been planted on different trees in Magurmari Chowrasta Bazar of the same union.
On Sunday afternoon (August 18), posters were seen hanging from several trees with nails. Going to a tree, a fakir named Gias Uddin Fakir was seen to have placed himself on a tree with his phone number and address to obtain an invitation claiming to be the Fakir president of Devangarh Union No.6.
The sign reads: “From now on, if you need a fakir for fakir dawat, kul and doa kalam, please contact Gias Uddin Fakir, President of Devangarh Union Fakir.” The address has been given at Magurmari Chowrasta Bazar Battala.
When contacted, Gias Uddin Fakir said on his mobile phone, ‘Many times many people do not find us. Due to which we have been organizing this poster at Devangarh Union for about three months. I’m getting a pretty good response through this poster. If we call someone’s fakir dawat, kul and doa kalam, then we go to 2-3 people. When we go to his house, we take 300 rupees per person as we spend time there all day. However, if someone from a wealthy family is invited, they give a little over 500.
