A special gathering was held in Shahiwal in Pakistan’s Punjab province to commemorate the 10 Lashkar-e-Taiba militants on the 12th anniversary of the Mumbai attacks, Indian media One India reported.
These 10 militants were carrying out the Mumbai attacks. On November 26, 2006, ten armed militants from Lashkar-e-Taiba entered the commercial city via the Arabian Sea. Their violence started throughout the city. Ten Lashkar militants, including Ajmal Kasab, marched on Mumbai with Kalashnikovs. Random shots and explosions killed 17 innocent people, including 16 security personnel.
According to One India, the intelligence report said that Lashkar had organized the meeting to pay tribute to the 10 militants. Special prayers have also been organized. Prayer meetings have reportedly been held in mosques controlled by Lashkar-e-Taiba. Lashkar’s boss, Hafiz Saeed, is currently serving a prison sentence. The militant leader was arrested in July 2019. The confiscation of his property was ordered.
He was sentenced in February last year to 11 years in prison for aiding and inciting terrorist activities. A Pakistani court has sentenced Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind of the 11/26 Bombay attacks, to 10 years in prison in two terrorism cases. Hafeez was convicted for the fourth time this year. Citing a judicial official, PTI said the Lahore anti-terror court had convicted four people, including the head of Jamaat-ud-Dawa, in two more cases. Hafiz Saeed and his two accomplices, Zafar Iqbal and Yaha Mujahid, were sentenced to 10 and a half years in prison.
