Sarkar’s majestic fastest Test Century bat and Taskin Ahmed hat-trick have been sold at auction. Soumya’s bat sold for four and a half lakh rupees and Taskin’s ball for four lakh rupees. Although the bank bought the bat and ball from these two at auction, the company name is not yet known.
Soumya and Taskin will spend all proceeds from the auction for coronavirus victims in the country.
Soumya auctioned his only century with a bat in a Test against New Zealand last year. His century with only 94 balls in that Test is the fastest century for Bangladesh.
On the other hand, he auctioned off the ball that Taskin scored a great hat-trick at ODI against Sri Lanka in 2011. Since then, no one has scored a hat-trick for Bangladesh at ODI.
The auction house, which sold Shakib’s bat for Tk 20 lakh, auctioned off Soumya’s bat and Taskin’s ball on Sunday night.
Both Soumya and Taskin joined Facebook Live for Action for Action during the auction.
The auction house will announce their names after receiving the auction money from the buyer.
Mushfiqur Rahim and Mohammad Ashraful, two former captains of the Bangladesh cricket team, have also said they will auction off their favorite bats.
Mushfiqur will auction off the first two centuries it has marked for the country in Cricket Test. On the other hand, Ashraful will auction off his two bats. One is the bat with which he scored his first century of testing as the world’s youngest test centurion in his first match and the other is the bat with which he scored a century in the historic match against mighty Australia.
