At Cox’s Bazar Sadar Upazila, his son was shot dead in front of his father by criminals. The incident took place in Himchhari Dhala on the Eidgaon-Eidgarh-Baishari road in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday (October 8) morning as he was returning home after singing at a social event. The deceased was identified as Johnny De Raj, 20, son of Tapan from the Charpara (Shiapara) area under ward 4 of the Eidgarh union of Ramu upazila. Johnny was this year’s HSC candidate from Eidgaon College. Besides studying, she used to sing at various social events.
A UP member from the Eidgarh Fourth District confirmed the truth of the incident. Alamgir Hossain said that on the way from Eidgaon to Eidgarh, thieves captured passengers carrying CNG in Himchhari Dhala. Vocalist Johnny was shot and killed by robbers at the time. He also said that people from various unions from three upazilas from Naikshangchhari, Ramu and Cox’s Bazar Sadar have to use the road.
His father, Tapan Dey, who was with the police and Johnny, said Johnny Dey performed in a performance at Chakaria in the district on Wednesday night. On Thursday morning, Johnny and his father left Chakaria on their way home with a GNC autorickshaw. When the autorickshaw reached Himchhari Dhala on the Eidgah-Eidgarh-Baishari road around 8 am, some masked vehicles stopped the vehicle. They then shot Johnny and fled into the woods.
According to Tapan, the father of the late Johnny, the masked men didn’t say anything to anyone and simply shot Johnny from the autorickshaw. When his death was confirmed, they fled into the forest. His suspicion is that it was a premeditated murder. Because the criminals didn’t say anything to him (father) and the autorickshaw driver or do anything to them.
Another source said that as soon as they reached Himchhari Dhala on the Eidgaon-Eidgarh road, a group of 10 to 15 armed robbers stopped them. They try to kidnap Johnny Raj. Johnny fights with them right now. Then the bandits beat him and the others. When the fight turned into a fight, the robbers shot Johnny in the right side of the head and went up the hill. Johnny was rescued and taken to a clinic called Eidgaon Medical, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Inspector Abdul Halim, in charge of the Eidgaon Police Investigation Center, confirmed the incident and said that all the police equipment in the Cox’s Bazar district was new. Police patrols have started in the Himchhari area of the Eidgaon-Eidgarh highway from 8 am to 9 pm. However, he said the criminals took GNC before the police patrol began around 8.30am.

Ramu OC KM Ajmiruzzaman Police Station said vocalist Johnny was killed in the shooting. His body was recovered and sent to the morgue at Cox Bazar Sadar Hospital for an autopsy. The police are conducting operations to catch the culprits. Police initially thought the thieves may have shot him dead.
