Police in riot gear stormed a demonstration on Friday in the area of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, taking out hundreds of protesters by truck. The protest procession is known to have left the north gate of Baitul Mukarram after Friday prayers. At that time they chanted anti-sculpture slogans. Ramna (investigation) model police station inspector Zahirul Islam told the media that after Friday prayers, between 100 and 150 devotees suddenly came out in procession under the banner of “Touhidi Janata”. When we stopped and asked them about their demands, they attacked the police without giving a response. Then we scatter them. At that time there was no leader for them to speak.
