Chittagong: Chandu Mia, the main defendant in the rape of a teenage girl in a house in Supariwalapara below the city’s Double Mooring Police Station, has given a confessional statement in court.
Chandu Mia made a confessional statement in the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Khairul Amin on Tuesday (September 29) afternoon.
Chandu Mia mentioned in her statement that the victim’s cousins, Smriti and Nuri Akhter, took the girl to Chandu Mia’s home for 1,000 Tk. Even before this, Nuri Akhter used to bring different women to Chandu Mia in exchange for money.
On the night of September 26, the girl was raped in a house in Supariwalapara below the Double Mooring Police Station. After the incident, the police Nuri Akhter (20) and her husband. Antar (22) and Rajib Hossain (20) were arrested.
Later on Tuesday morning, a team led by Double Mooring Police Station Deputy Inspector (SI) Arnab Barua arrested the main defendant Chandu Mia in a raid in the Paienen area.
SI Arnab Barua told banglanews that Chandu Mia covered her body after the incident. To escape the police, she went to a relative’s home in Paienen and went into hiding. From there we arrest him.
Double Mooring SI Nurul Islam Police Station told banglanews that Chandu Mia gave a statement in court admitting to the rape incident. She had previously admitted that she had done this with other girls in exchange for money.
According to the police, the girl came from Feni to visit her uncle’s house in the Agrabad CDA area. The girl’s cousin, Smriti, has been involved in immoral activities before. Smriti and Nuri Akhter took the girl to Chandu Mia’s house. Once there, they fell into a trance. Nuri Akhter also stood guard outside the door. After the rape, Smriti and Nuri Akhter beat the girl, threatening her not to say anything to anyone. The girl’s mobile phone was also taken away.
