Pabna: Pabna suffers from strong cold and misty winds in the north. The temperature in the district has dropped to 6.8 degrees Celsius.
The temperature was recorded at 7.8 degrees Celsius on Saturday (December 19) at 8am. Later, at 9 in the morning, the temperature dropped to 6.6 degrees.
Earlier on Friday (December 16), the temperature was 11.5 degrees Celsius, according to the Ishwardi Meteorological Office in Pabna. The low temperature on Tuesday (December 15) was 15.5 degrees Celsius and on Monday (December 14) it was 13.5 degrees Celsius.
As the temperature drops due to severe cold, children and adults suffer from various cold-related illnesses such as colds and fever. During the day several moving vehicles were seen with their headlights on. No one is going out without much need.
According to the Met Office, the temperature has started to drop. A slight cold wave blows in the north. Somewhere, nature is covered by a blanket of fog. However, at the beginning of the day on Saturday, the laborers and ordinary people have left for their normal work.
Helal Uddin Ahmed, officer in charge of the Pabna Ishwardi Meteorological Office, said the temperature had started to drop over the past two to three days. The temperature registered at 7.8 degrees Celsius at 8am on Saturday. At 9 a.m., it dropped to 7.8 degrees Celsius. The temperature is expected to drop even further. At present, a slight cold wave prevails in the district.
