When asked if he would be arrested, he said the case was being investigated by PBI. They will decide on the arrest. He said the SMP would hand them over if they so wished.

SI Akbar, in charge of the Bandarbazar outpost, the main suspect, fled on October 12 after Raihan was killed in police torture on October 11. The SMP later formed another committee to investigate his escape.

A source from the investigation committee told Jugantar that SI Hasan Uddin and a reporter from a local newspaper changed the hard drive of the CCTV camera at the Bandarbazar outpost on October 11 and added a new hard drive. The reporter from a local newspaper bought a 500GB hard drive from a store called Friends Computer in Galleria Shopping City for Rs 1,200 under invoice number 24602. The investigative committee also collected CCTV footage from that market. Later, the journalist brought someone from the computer store to change his hard drive.

According to the investigation committee, SI Hasan Uddin assisted in that work. Furthermore, IS Hasan Uddin spoke with the journalist 40 times on the day of the incident and 19 times the day before. Furthermore, the investigation committee has also received accusations against Hasan Uddin for helping SI Akbar escape.

According to the investigation committee, 4 people, including Akbar, were fired on October 12 at 3pm. He was at the Bandarbazar booth until 3:58 pm. SI Hasan understood his weapon. From there Akbar fled; But he did not inform the higher authorities about the matter.
