Cox’s Bazar: Locals have held sit-ins and demonstrations in the Thaingkhali area of Ukhia in Cox’s Bazar to demand jobs in Rohingya camps.

The program was held on Sunday (December 27) from morning to afternoon at Thaingkhali Station under the banner of the Palangkhali Rights Implementation Committee.

The protesters took to the streets in shrouds and prevented the Rohingya from entering the camps of various local and foreign organizations.

According to protesters, locals have been affected in various ways by the arrival of the Rohingya since 2016. But various local and foreign organizations continue to work with Rohingya youth without employing the local educated community.

Also, since most of the high-ranking employees are from outside the Cox’s Bazar district, they are strategically providing job opportunities for their family members. Due to which the educated local society is deprived of jobs. Many are being left out.

Advocate MA Malek, Palangkhali Rights Implementation Committee Coordinator Rabiul Alam, Member Secretary Abdul Gafur, Joint Coordinator Kamal Uddin, Delwar Hossain Bappi, Etminanul Haque, Mohammad Shahidullah and others spoke at the occasion.
