Awami League Secretary General Obaidul Quader said the government has adopted a zero tolerance policy against irregularities in aid activities. He said the government was in a difficult position and even if he committed a misdemeanor, no one was spared.
He made the comments at a briefing at his official residence on Tuesday (May 12) morning. Obaidul Quader also ordered online shopping on Eid to avoid the risk of corona infection. The Secretary General of the Awami League said that due to the economic prosperity and capacity that Bangladesh has achieved in the past decade under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, it is possible to provide such an enormous amount of incentives and relief assistance even in this crisis.
He urged doctors to visit patients in private chambers every day, following small hygiene rules and using safety equipment. Quader said it will greatly benefit patients.
The Minister of Road and Bridge Transport said that in this Corona crisis, an incentive package of around Tk 1 lakh crore has been carried under the rations of 10 million people and providing cash assistance to 5 million people does not have precedents in the contemporary world.
