Foreign Minister Momen said the meeting will address all major bilateral issues, including the Dhaka water exchange, cooperative cooperation, border killings, the trade deficit, communications, electricity and the Rohingya crisis. . The foreign minister indicated that the issue of sharing water from the same river that flows between the two countries will be a priority at the next meeting. Dhaka will propose to bring together the theme of water exchange between the two main rivers Manu, Muhuri, Gomti, Dharla, Dudhkumar, Feni and Teesta in a single framework. He said Bangladesh will soon propose, if possible, to convene a meeting of the Joint Rivers Commission (JRC) at ministerial level next month to build a framework to solve the problem of sharing the water in these seven rivers.
The foreign minister said that the Surma-Kushiyara project would also be one of the agendas of the ITC meeting. The last ITC meeting was held in New Delhi in 2010, ten years ago. In response to a question about Teesta’s pending deal, the minister said that the deal had been finalized a long time ago. Even India has signed every page of the agreement.
