Sheikh Hasina met Modi at the airport

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Dhaka on a two-day state visit.

In the evening, you will jointly visit the Bangabandhu-Bapu Digital Exhibition with the Prime Minister of Bangladesh at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center.

The Bangladesh-India Independence Route will be inaugurated during Modi’s visit.

During the liberation war, a convoy of 16 vehicles reached Mujibnagar by this route and the interim government oath was taken. This highway goes from Mujibnagar to Kolkata via Nadia. A mausoleum will be inaugurated in Ashuganj during the visit.

This mausoleum is in memory of the Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the liberation war. The Indian-funded renovation works at Kutibari in Shilaidaha, Kushtia will also be inaugurated. After awarding Bangabandhu the Gandhi Peace Prize, he will have a formality.

On the occasion of the golden anniversary of independence and the 50th anniversary of bilateral relations, Bangladesh and India will jointly celebrate the program in 16 countries. The names of these 16 countries will be announced. The programs that will be in the celebration will also be announced.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had visited Bangladesh in 2015. India has proposed a “Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (SEPA)” on the nature of trade facilitation once Bangladesh becomes a middle-income country.

Currently, Bangladesh enjoys the commercial benefits of India under the SAFTA agreement. The subject of a joint study on the nature of the development benefits of a least developed country may be in the joint statement.

The study will be carried out jointly by the Bangladesh Institute of Foreign Trade and an Indian institute. The directives of the two leaders on the management of the water of the common rivers may be in the joint statement.

On the second day of the visit, Modi will pay tribute by visiting Bangabandhu’s tomb in Tungipara in Gopalganj on the morning of March 26.

The Foreign Ministries of the two countries are working tirelessly to finalize the Memorandum of Understanding and the inauguration of the project. The two prime ministers will also unveil two separate commemorative stamps marking the 50th anniversary of friendly relations between Bangladesh and India on behalf of their respective countries.

The Prime Minister of India will also pay a courtesy visit to the President at his office. After the visit, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will depart from Dhaka for Delhi on the night of March 26.
