On the night of December 14, the party’s deputy general secretary, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed, signed a notice against BNP vice president Shawkat Mahmud and asked him to send a response to the party’s office within 72 hours. .
In addition to Shawkat Mahmood, another party vice chairman, Major (retired) Hafiz Uddin, also received a notice of apparent cause. You have been asked to respond to the notification within 5 days.
Shawkat Mahmud was appointed vice chairman of the party at the BNP’s sixth national council in 2016. Previously, he was a member of the advisory council to the party chairman. Shawkat Mahmud was the former president of the BNP-backed Federal Union of Journalists of Bangladesh and the former president and general secretary of the National Press Club. He is also the acting coordinator of the BNP-backed Joint Professional Council.
