Shakib’s first team at IPL was Kolkata Knight Riders. He has played in six of the seven consecutive seasons since 2011. He was part of Kolkata’s two title victories.

Kolkata and Kings XI Punjab battled to land Shakib on the team at an auction in Chennai on Thursday. Kolkata is the first to call an SUV worth 20 million rupees. Then Punjab joined the duality. Shakib’s salary is over 3 million rupees.

Punjab’s remaining budget was 53 crore 20 lakh rupees, while Kolkata had only 10 crore 75 lakh rupees. However, after Calcutta asked for 3 crore 20 lakhs, Punjab stopped the fight.

Kolkata had the highest quota of only two foreign cricketers left from today’s auction. Shakib is one of them.

Shakib wrote his first name at the IPL auction in 2009. No franchise of the service took it. Before the 2011 event, Kolkata Knight Riders brought him to the team for 4 lakh 25 thousand dollars. Before the 2014 IPL, Kolkata kept it at Rs 26 crore.

The team released him after playing for Kolkata six times that season. Before the 2016 IPL, Sunrisers Hyderabad brought him into the team for 2 crore rupees. He played for Hyderabad in two games. He was not at the auction in the last match due to the ban. This time it went back to the auction and beat the previous rate.

Bangladesh’s left arm pacemaker, Mustafizur Rahman, ranks fourth in today’s auction. Shakib noticed number two. Mahmudullah and Mohammad Saif Uddin are already on the final auction list. Mushfiqur Rahim also joined the auction at the last minute.

Even if he does get a team, there are questions about how much Shakib will be able to play in this IPL. Bangladesh can visit Sri Lanka in April, Sri Lankans can visit Bangladesh in May. However, the schedule is yet to be finalized. This year’s IPL can be from April to May.

Glenn Maxwell has made a fuss at the auction before Shakib. Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore signed the Australian batsman for 142.5 million rupees after a fierce battle with Chennai Super Kings. Like Shakib, its base price was 2 million rupees.

At the beginning of the first set, Nair, Alex Hales, and Jason Roy were the first cricketers to be sold to Steven Smith. Delhi Capitals bought it for Rs 2 crore 20 lakh.
