Shakib Al Hasan is in the auction for the Sri Lanka Lanka Premier League (LPL) franchise T20 tournament. Apart from Shakib, Chris Gayle, Darren Sammy, Darren Bravo, Shahid Afridi, Ravi Bopara, Colin Monroe, Munaf Patel and Vernon Philander are among the 150 foreign cricketers.
The cricketers for this tournament will be auctioned on October 1. The ICC ban on Shakib will end on October 27. Earlier, Shakib is likely to play in Bangladesh’s second Test against Sri Lanka. Shakib has already come to Bangladesh from the United States with the goal of returning to cricket and is supposed to personally practice at BKSP.
The LPL will take place from November 14 to December 6 in three locations: Dambulla, Pallekele and Hambantota. Initially scheduled for August, it has been delayed due to the Sri Lankan government’s lockdown on the Kovid-19 epidemic.
The tournament authorities asked the government to quarantine foreigners who participate in it for 7 days, generally in the country, which is 14 days. However, it was not immediately clear if the quarantine period had ended.
According to a statement released by the Sri Lanka Cricket Board on Friday, a maximum of six international cricketers can be selected for each franchise. A total of 5 teams will play. In total, 75 local cricketers will have the opportunity along with 30 international cricketers. Each team will have a staff of 19 people.
This is the second tournament after 2012.
