Rahim, the main defendant, has surrendered to court after he escaped in a viral incident of sexual harassment of a young woman visiting Kashaban in Brahmanbaria. He surrendered before the Brahmanbaria Judicial Court of First Instance on Monday. Later, the court judge Sarwar Alam ordered that he be sent to jail.
The officer in charge of the Brahmanbaria (OC) court, Didarul Alam, confirmed the news.
Rahim is a resident of the Chaybaria area of the city of Brahmanbaria. Rahim covered his body after the sexual harassment video was posted on Facebook. The Sadar Model Police conducted multiple raids to arrest him.
Earlier on September 26, police arrested Rahim’s friend Junaid, accused of sexually harassing a young woman. He was later arrested and sent to court in a case brought by the police under the Pornography and Digital Safety Act. Junaid is currently in jail.
Recently, a young woman was sexually assaulted by talented local youth while visiting Kashaban in the district town of Brahmanbaria. Later, a video of the abused girl went viral on social media Facebook.
On the afternoon of September 23, a video of the girl being sexually abused was posted on the page of the Facebook social organization ‘Amrai Brahmanbaria’. The video was released immediately.
As seen in the video, a young woman in a black burqa goes for a walk in Kashabane in the Puneout area of the city. There he is made fun of by some local scoundrels. They took money from the girl’s toiletry bag. Faced with this situation, the young woman grabbed the legs of the scoundrels and called her older brother and begged him. They tried to open the girl’s burqa and insulted her.
