The government has instructed not to provide services to any governmental or non-governmental organization without a mask. Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam made the remarks at a limited press conference in the Secretariat after the cabinet meeting on Monday (October 19) at noon.
Previously, a virtual cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister of Ganobhaban and other members of the Cabinet of the Secretariat.
At the briefing, the cabinet secretary said: “Massive instructions have been issued from all sides, at all levels. As many institutions as we have, local or organizational organizations have instructed “No mask, no service” everywhere. The masks should be worn in all institutions, markets, shopping centers, schools, social or religious conferences; we have given this instruction. As we said in the last meeting, we have already instructed the Divisional Commissioners to put up a large sign outside all public and private offices: no one can enter without a mask and no one can use the service without a mask.
Regarding the strict measures to wear masks everywhere, he said: “We have to issue a state order in all mosques to wear masks at least twice after prayers.” I have also spoken with scholars, they also agree with that. You will not be allowed to enter government institutions without a mask. Not only in the government but also in non-governmental organizations. We will also talk about public transport. Tomorrow we will sit down with the Secretary of Roads, Navigation and Railways. There I will make a decision. “No mask, no service. It’s done.”
He also said that the Cabinet has approved the revised draft of the speech delivered by His Excellency the President at the special session of the XI National Assembly on the occasion of the ‘Mujib Year 2020’, the centenary of the birth of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The president has called a special session on the 8th. There he will address a special session. It was supposed to happen on March 22. In the context of that, the speech has been updated, the cabinet has approved the speech. The speech will discuss Bangabandhu’s political philosophy.
