Nazmul Hasan Papon, Managing Director of Beximco Pharmaceuticals, expressed optimism about receiving the vaccine from the Serum Institute of India. “I’ve talked to Serum,” he said. Earlier in the day, Rabbur Reza, chief operating officer (CEO) of Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited, said in a press release on Monday that Bangladesh would receive the corona vaccine from the Serum Institute of India on time under the tripartite agreement.
He added that the agreement between the government of Bangladesh, Beximco and the Serum Institute states that after approval, the Serum Institute will provide the first phase vaccine in Bangladesh within a month. Trust me, don’t get vaccinated at the right time. We are in contact with the serum.
The Serum Institute is producing corona vaccines manufactured in India by the University of Oxford and the pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca. The government of Bangladesh signed an agreement with the Serum Institute and Beximco Pharmaceuticals on December 13 to purchase the vaccine.
