A case has been brought against ASI by the Natore Police for allegedly raping a college girl in an attempt to get married. On Thursday, the student presented the case in the Natore Court for the Suppression of Abuse of Women and Children.
The court ordered RAB-5 (Rajshahi) to investigate the allegations and submit a report to the court.
Defendant ASI Mahbubur Rahman is currently working at the Kajla Police Post in the Rajshahi metropolis.
According to sources in the case, the student, a resident of the Nazirpur area of Gurudaspur upazila in Natore, was studying at a university in Rajshahi. He became close to Mahbubur Rahman.
Taking the opportunity to marry the student, they rented a house in the Paba and Naodapara areas and lived together. At one point, the girl became pregnant and was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for an abortion.
After that, the student pressured Mahbubur Rahman to marry and Mahbub tortured her. On November 6, the student moved into her father’s house. That night, Mahabub went there and promised to marry and have sex again. Later go to work.
But when the student pressured her to marry, Mahbub tortured her physically and mentally, according to the statement in the case.
Meanwhile, defendant ASI Mahbubur Rahman claimed the girl as his wife, but was unable to show any valid marriage documents. He also said that he would soon grant her wife status.
