Self-employed cardholders will obtain a bank loan

The government is giving virtual ID cards or identity cards to freelancers who are earning foreign exchange by working online in the country. On this occasion, the Bank of Bangladesh has taken the initiative to provide credit cards and loans to these self-employed workers. Banks have been instructed to take the necessary steps to do so.

Bangladesh Bank issued a notice on Sunday giving instructions to banks. The foreign exchange earned by outsourcing freelancers in IT-based industry is said to be constantly increasing. These revenues have already started to make a significant contribution to the country’s economy. To make Bangladesh a developed country by 2041, the government is taking on and implementing various projects to create skilled human resources and entrepreneurs, create employment, and increase investment through training in the self-employed sector. The Department of Information Technologies and Communications of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technologies has decided to provide virtual IDs to the self-employed in the IT sector to give social and institutional recognition to the self-employed specialized in the IT sector.
