Barisal Mehendiganj upazila saw foreign relations. A court sentenced three people, including Ronnie, 11, to life in prison for killing a child.
Judge KM Shahid Ahmed of the Barisal Crime Suppression Court delivered the verdict on Monday (October 12) around 11 am.
The convicts are Kona Begum, wife of the deceased and wife of Latiqullah Duari, a West Ratanpur area resident of the Kazirhat Police Station in Mehendiganj upazila, and her boyfriend Ruhul Amin Noli and Shahin Noli, residents of the same area. Two brothers about Ruhul Amin Noli and Shahin Noli.
Kona Begum and Ruhul Amin Noli were present in the courtroom when the verdict was announced, but Shahin Noli was not present.
The late Ronnie was in fifth grade at a local school. He is the son of Latiqullah Duari and Kona Begum.
Citing Special Prosecutor Lashkar Nurul Haque Roy of the Public Security Disruption Crimes Court, Rony’s father worked as a day laborer in Sitakunda, Chittagong. His wife Kona Begum used to live with their son Rony in their village house in West Ratanpur of the Kazirhat Police Station in Mehendiganj.
As her husband lived in Sitakunda, Chittagong, Kona Begum had an extramarital affair with her neighbors Ruhul Amin Noli and Shahin Noli. When Ronnie returned home after playing on the field on February 21, 2013 at around 1.30pm, he saw his mother Kona Begum and Ruhul Amin Noli in close condition. Suspecting that Ronnie might tell others about the incident, mother Kona Begum, Ruhul Amin Noli and Shahin Noli strangled the boy to death.
Local UP members and others suspected that Ronnie had been bitten by a snake and went to bury his body. They interrupt. Upon receiving the news, Rony’s father came from Sitakunda in Chittagong and filed a murder case the next day.
Later, when the police arrested Kona Begum, Ruhul Amin Noli, and Shahin Noli, they confessed to killing Rony. The investigating officer on the case then filed a charge sheet against the three.
Attorney Lashkar-e-Nurul Haque said the court sentenced the three defendants to life imprisonment after the charges were proven after the testimony of 24 people.
