Police have tightened security around the Bangabandhu sculpture and mural in Barisal after the vandalism of the sculpture under construction in Kushtia. There are sculptures, murals and portraits of Bangabandhu at 14 locations in the city.
Police sources in the city said that since last Saturday night, the police have dedicated themselves to protecting sculptures, murals and portraits made in different areas of the city. Depending on the importance, there are three to five uniformed police officers on security at these facilities.
Police presence has been observed at 14 locations in the city, including the Bangabandhu Udyan Chattar Mural, the Bangabandhu sculpture placed in front of the Barisal Press Club on Mainul Hasan Road, the Barisal Chattar Secondary and Secondary Education Board, the Bangabandhu Chattar Auditorium and Sohel Chattar.

In addition to the uniformed police, the detective police are also on duty in civilian clothes.
