Span 35 of the Padma Bridge is sitting today, Saturday (October 31). After installing span 2-B on piers 6 and 9 at the Mawa end of the bridge, a total of 5,250 meters of the bridge will be visible. Executive Engineer and Project Manager (Main Bridge) Dewan. Abdul Quader has confirmed this information.

He said the stretch was supposed to be installed on Friday. However, a naval crisis was created due to the fall of coal in the Padma River. Where the water level was 130-150 feet during the monsoon season, the water level has dropped to only 6 feet. So the depth has increased by dredging in the last two days. The crane that carries the span from the construction yard to the dock requires at least 12 feet of water to move.

The world’s largest floating crane, Tian-e, is known to depart from the steel truss jetty of the construction yard at Mawar Kumarbhog in Munshiganj with a 150-meter-long 2-B span on Saturday morning. You are supposed to arrive at the desired pier within 30 minutes of departure. And if the weather is favorable, the section can be placed on the pier at noon.

After span 35 of the bridge, only six spans will remain. Because a total of 41 spans will be placed on the bridge.

According to the sources concerned, the 3,600-ton capacity ‘Tian-e’ floating crane will transport the 150-meter-long span from Mawa Construction Yard in Munshiganj at 9am on Saturday. Anchoring work here must be done very carefully. Therefore, it is important to have a favorable climate in Padmanadi.

This month of October 3 sections have been installed. A total of 34 spans have been installed. And the work of installing the remaining 6 openings. All installation work on the stretch is expected to be completed in December this year.
