Saudi officials have denied that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had a secret meeting with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman. Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud tweeted following reports in various international outlets about Sunday’s meeting.
According to a BBC report, Faisal bin Farhan tweeted: “There is no such meeting.” Meanwhile, Netanyahu declined to comment on Israeli media reports of Neom’s visit from Tel Aviv.
The BBC says the Trump administration has been pressuring Israel and Saudi Arabia to normalize relations with the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Sudan, which recently established normal diplomatic relations with Israel. The Saudi authorities closely monitor these steps and welcome them. But Saudi Arabia has indicated that it will wait until a peace agreement is reached between Israel and Palestine.
A group of senior Israeli officials visited Sudan for the first time on Monday, the BBC reported. A senior Israeli official confirmed the information.
