According to the research team and the Lauachhara Forest Department, initial work on python snakes in Lauachhara National Park started in 2011 under the initiative of the Creative Conservation Alliance and in collaboration with Carinum and the Bangladesh Forest Department under the Python Project. from Bangladesh. When the research team enters the field, various fields of the garden’s biodiversity come to the fore. The search began with the discovery of the remains of dead amphibians and reptiles in the park in search of habitat for pythons. Subsequently, with the permission of the Forest Department, the original research work on pythons and turtles, as well as photographs of amphibians and reptiles found in the forest, continued to collect various physical information.

In a long-term study, 19 species of frogs and only one species of Sicilian have been found in Lauachhara. Among the reptiles, two species of turtles, 14 species of lizards (including two species of guisaps) and 35 species of snakes have been found. Containing only 6 species of poisonous snakes. These species include the king gokhra, python, and yellow mountain tortoise, which are already on the list of threatened or endangered species. On the other hand, in the Lauyachhara National Park species such as Chikila, the Baibun tree frog, and the Blythe snake have been found. These have been included in the IUCN red list due to lack of data. The Bengali naming of 11 newly found reptiles and amphibians in Bangladesh is in process.

Shahriar Rahman Caesar, chief wildlife researcher for the research team, said 18 species of reptiles and amphibians have been found in Lauyachhara National Park. Among them are 11 new species of animals. What is new in Bangladesh. Also, our study did not capture 23 species of animals that had been the idea for so long. Assuming they have been misidentified, we have removed them from the list. Since we work at the field level, we simply add what we get.

He further said that one of the goals of this research work was to discover comprehensive information on amphibians and reptiles in and around Lauyachhara National Park. In the case of frogs and chameleons / lizards in particular, to accurately determine the species, it is necessary to take various body information (for example, length of limbs, number of scales, etc.), as recorded herein research work. The research team not only looked for animals, but also presented information on the problems that forest animals face and what will happen in the future.
