RAB-1 members arrested Mulhota, the main defendant in a gang rape case against a 14-year-old girl in the Salna area of Gazipur. He was detained in the Telipara area of the Basan police station at around 2:30 pm on Friday.
The arrested Arif alias Sabuj, 28, is the son of the late Khorshed Alam from Barurajani village under the Nalitabari Police Station in Sherpur. He used to work as a garage mechanic in a rented house in the Teknagpara area of the Basan police station in the city.
Abdullah Al Mamun, commander of the RAB-1 company in Gazipur, said on Saturday that Arif and his friends kidnapped a seventh-grade student from a local school in Salna, Gazipur City Corporation, around 10 p.m. on October 1. . Later, a friend of Arif’s raped the student at Russell’s home with his hands, feet, and face tied. He later recorded the video.
The rapists then tied the student’s hands and feet with rope, wrapped duct tape around her face, wrapped a scarf around her neck, and kept her inside the box. Sensing this, the tenants of the house next door stepped forward and rescued the victim.
The girl was rescued and admitted to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical University Hospital. The student’s mother filed a gang rape case at the Gazipur Metro Sadar Police Station.
The main defendant, Arif, alias Sabuj, was arrested in a raid in the Telipara area of the city on the basis of secret information around 2.30pm on Friday. The detainee has been handed over to the police station. An attempt is being made to arrest the accused fugitive involved in the incident.
